Methods based on a semi-empirical model for simulating scroll compressors with HFC and HFO refrigerants

The aim of this work is to evaluate three methodologies regarding semi-empirical scroll compressor modeling for different refrigerants and conduct a comparative analysis their results accuracy. The first step improve model compressors based on established techniques, further enhance the physical background some its sub-processes leading more accurate predictions. Focus then given operation when changing refrigerant, proposing methods in total. method refers standard model, requiring an optimization process calibration all parameters. second relies reference also uses procedures, but fine-tuning small subset third generalized, without need any parameters identification, fluid change occurs, very fast approach. Το accuracy verify applicability each related necessary computational time, two with are considered (HFCs HFOs blends). evaluated available manufacturer data, using R134a as refrigerant. show that predicts key indicators high accuracy, maximum discrepancy 2.06%, 4.17% 3.18 K mass flow rate, electric power discharge temperature respectively. other dropping, within acceptable levels most cases. Therefore, cases reduced can be accepted, preferred performance prediction which provides at fraction time compared methods, once calibrated case.
